The Canteen is a food hall comprised of three complementary food stalls -- TGM Bagel, Fred's Meat & Bread, and Yalla -- and your neighborhood bar, Square Bar, overlooking the plaza of the Centergy One building in the heart of Tech Square. All of the stalls at The Canteen are owned + operated by the award-winning team behind The General Muir and TGM Bread (at Emory Point) and the original Fred's Meat & Bread and Yalla (at Krog Street Market).
If you went to summer camp like we did, you remember the Canteen -- the camp store, snack bar, gathering spot -- where you'd find a treat and a smile from a counselor or fellow camper. Our idea behind The Canteen here at Tech Square is to create a casual community hub that can be used by different folks in the neighborhood in different ways. We suggest . . . a bagel and energy shot on the way to class, Batdorf & Bronson coffee and a pastry while studying or working, a quick falafel lunch on the plaza with coworkers (or, if you must, to take back to the office), a meeting over coffee or cocktails, a burger and a beer at dinner, a round of drinks with friends, a gathering to watch the big game (we've got several TVs) or on your way to the big game. I'm sure we're missing something . . . but I think you get the idea. Come early, come often.
DC + MARVEL TRIVIA, THURS, OCT 25, 7PM
Calling all superheroes! Are you Team DC or Team Marvel? Well, for this night only your best bet is to be both! We had such a blast at Harry Potter Trivia that we’re teaming up once again with Trivial Matters — this time for SUPERHERO trivia on Thursday, October 25th, 7pm!
If you sign up your team by 6:45pm that evening, you are entered for a chance to win Canteen bucks to spend that night (in addition to the house money prizes for the trivia winners)! AND, there will be a costume contest, with prizes awarded for the best Marvel and the best DC costumes! (Did we mention it's free to play? Oh, we didn't? OK then, it's free to play!)

Parking is plentiful and inexpensive around The Canteen (but not free, except on Sundays, when street parking in the area is FREE!). There are at least 2 parking decks and 1 surface parking lot within a 3-5 minute walk, plus metered street parking on 5th and Spring Streets.
To access the Centergy parking deck, from Spring Street make a right across the street from MidCity Lofts (you'll see signage for LA Fitness), at Abercrombie Place. Follow the driveway to the parking deck on the right. From the parking deck either exit at the street, cross, and go up the stairs, following signage to Centergy One/Building 75. Or, exit the parking deck at Level 5, take a right out of the deck and cross the plaza toward 5th Street. The entrance to The Canteen will be on your left before you get to 5th Street.
*If you miss your turn for the parking deck in front of MidCity Lofts / LA Fitness, don't worry, it's an easy fix! Proceed to the next stoplight, which is 5th Street. Turn right onto 5th Street and proceed 1 block to Williams Street (one way street) and turn right again. Turn immediately right and the parking deck will now be on your left.
Georgia Tech Visitors' parking Area 6 (surface lot) and Area 8 (parking deck) are also great parking options. The Area 6 surface lot is just across Spring St. from our building. The Area 8 parking deck is attached to the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center (at the corner of 5th + Spring), just across 5th Street from The Canteen and accessible from Spring Street. That parking deck address is 770 Spring St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30308-1031. Here's a helpful map, showing Area 6 and Area 8 parking options at the far right (aka East) of the map.
The parking decks and surface lot require a credit card for payment.
There is also metered street parking on 5th Street and Spring Street (maximum 4 hours, enforced Monday-Saturday, FREE on Sunday and City holidays); pay at the parking kiosk or with the Parkmobile app.
The Canteen is conveniently located a short walk (1/2 mile, 10 minutes) from both the Midtown and North Ave MARTA stations. From the Midtown station, the bright yellow (and free to all riders!) “Tech Trolley” even stops directly in front of our building (the Centergy Building). Please note that the Tech Trolley runs less frequently during the summer, so check the schedule here. The Midtown Alliance website is a great resource for all things Midtown, including how to get around.
Take advantage of the Relay Bike Share hub right in front of our building. Pick up a bike from another Relay Bike Share hub (including either MARTA station) and ride to us!
